Terceira Island, Azores. Take a hike into this extinct lava tube found on a tiny island off the coast of Portugal. The walk brings you deeper and deeper into the heart of the volcano until you reach a crystal clear lake at the bottom fed by rain water. The constant rainfall and evaporation from below allow for the jungle to grow right down into the mouth of the tube. This was a surreal experience.
